A bridesmaid is a female friend or relative who serves as the bride companion at her wedding. The bridesmaids have several roles leading up to and during the ceremony, including arranging the bridal shower, helping with decorations and food, getting the bride ready, carrying her train, and assisting the bride with her dress.
