Meaning

The Remand Report will help in the successful completion of the investigation. The remand report shall contain only sufficient evidence to come to the conclusion that the detention of the accused or the continued detention of the accused is necessary.

Remand Report in CrPC Section:


Section 167 (2) CrPC w,e.f. 31.12. 2009, arraignment of an accused u/s 167 CrPC even if the accused is produced through electronic video link, his signature on the remand order may be certified by the Magistrate in his order.


Uses of Remand Report:


If a person arrested during investigation and the investigation is not completed within 24 hours, the Officer-in-Charge of the Police Station shall send the accused to the nearest Judicial Magistrate along with the remand report appended to the case diary so far written till that date.
