Meaning

An employee who has been granted commuted leave service voluntarily without returning the duty, the commuted leave will be treated as HPL and the excess leave pay will be refunded. Retirement shall not be reinstated if ill health renders him incapable of further service or death.

Example

Rules for Commuted Leave : Cannot be granted as leave preparatory to retirement. If the commuted leave is taken twice, the half pay leave account should be credited.


Commuted Leave is calculated as: The number of commuted leaves shall not exceed half the number of half pay leaves. Also, a medical certificate must be provided to avail the commuted leave.

Commuted leave can be taken up to 180 days during full service.
