Coercion refers to the act or process of forcing a person to do something he does not want to do.

Example

Coercion in Law: Coercion means any act prohibited by the Indian Penal Code (45 of 1860) or unlawfully detaining or threatening to detain any property with intent to prejudice any person. It causes any person to enter into a contract.



For example, If a person commits coercion to someone, he shall be fined or imprisoned for up to three years.
